Spunky Monkey Extra’s
These adorable animal felt characters originally began as part of our involvement with Operation Christmas Child (OCC) shoeboxes, a wonderful initiative run by the Samaritan’s Purse organization. This program collects filled shoeboxes that are then sent to children in need all around the world. For the past 15 years, our church has proudly led this meaningful program, inspiring me to create something special for the children receiving these gifts. I started by purchasing felt animal patterns, but after making various adjustments to suit my preferences, I decided it made more sense to design my own patterns from scratch. This decision led to a delightful overflow of many different patterns featuring animals, dolls, and various other creations.
My goal is to share my passion for OCC by offering these patterns to others, though this is very much a work in progress since my original hand-drawn patterns are still a bit rough around the edges. I’m continually refining them to make the designs cleaner and easier to use before sharing more widely. The first pattern I created is my Spunky Monkey—a lovable character with a mischievous expression and a long tail. These felt animals are small enough to fit perfectly inside a shoebox, and the patterns can be resized to fit your needs. Please note that the patterns are for personal use only and cannot be sold.
If you decide to make one of these felt animals, I would absolutely love to see your creations! Please feel free to share your pictures on my Facebook page @loristreasures. Additionally, I would be very grateful for your support by following me on Facebook and subscribing to my YouTube channel @Lorisresourcefultreasures, where I share more creative projects and helpful tips. Your encouragement means a lot as I continue this journey of crafting and giving.
